Synopsis (via B&N)

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

My Thoughts:

Dang! I loved this book almost as much as the first. Now that's something that doesn't happen often. The more I listened the more I wanted. Suzanne did a fantastic job yet again!

I still want to throttle the Capitol and I love Peeta and Katniss even more. Catching Fire added some new characters that I have found myself attached too and a whole new ever evolving storyline.

You know what the Capitol reminds me of? That Marie Antoinette movie with Kirstin Dunst. Overindulgence everywhere. Over spoiled children.

What a cliffhanger to leave it on also! I really can't wait to see how this all plays out in Mockingjay!

I was so worried when I read Catching Fire that it would not live up to my expectations. I was relieved when I read it because it, too, is a masterpiece. I cannot wait for Mockingjay. Thanks for your review.

That really was a dozzy of a cliffhanger, wasn't it. I suggested these books to friends of mine and I really got an ear beating for the cliffhanger and the third not being out yet. :) Soon enough I told them. But, so glad you enjoyed this one as well.:)

I agree about this being as good as the first one - I loved every minute of it and I'm counting down the days until Mockingjay.
