Mailbox Monday & What Are You Reading

This is a weekly meme hosted by Bermudaonion's Weblog (September host). Join the fun and post what you got in your mailbox last week!

I picked up a few this week.

  1. Prophecy of The Sisters - Michelle Zink (bought for my collection)
  2. Venom - Jennifer Estep (Blog Tour)
  3. Dies the Fire - S.M. Stirling (bought thanks to Ryan's review at Wordsmithonia)
  4. My Life as a Girl - Elizabeth Mosier (bought)
  5. Downsiders - Neal Shusterman (bought)

It's Monday What are you reading this week? Hosted by Sheila at One Person's Journey Through A World of Books. This is a meme to list the books completed last week, the books currently being read, and the books to be finished this week.

Books I finished last week:

Sadly none. Last week was one of those busy and stressful kind of weeks.

I DNF Those That Wake. I just couldn't get a grip on the plot and it drove me nuts.

Books I am reading this week:

Venom - Jennifer Estep
Wicked Appetite - Janet Evanovich
The Wake of Forgiveness - Bruce Machart (I may not finish this one either. It's good when I read it but I have no motivation to pick it up.)
Boneshaker - Cherie Priest (audiobook)

Books to finish this week:

Venom - Jennifer Estep
Wicked Appetite or maybe Boneshaker as well.

Great mailbox. And, you know, I think we all have those weeks where we don't read much and there are always DNF books out there!

I think we all have weeks we don't finish any books. It looks like you have a great line up for next week.

I sometimes have busy weeks where I can't get anything finished either. I figure maybe the next week will be better!

Funny how some weeks are so productive, and some aren't. DNFs are ok, if reading isn't fun, then you are ruining one of life's great pleasures.

Venom looks and sounds interesting. I hope you enjoy that one!
I don't usually get stressed by reading but I can stress over getting (and remaining) behind on reviews.
Well chin up - I hope this is a great week for you.

I bet Boneshaker is good on audio. I hope you have a good week :)

The Downsiders sounds interesting. I've seen his other books, don't recall this one.

I think we all have those weeks when reading ends up on the back burner. I know I am not reading as much as I would like lately too. Hope this week is less stressful and you can relax in your favorite reading chair and get lost in a good book.

So sorry you didn't have a good reading week. I thought Boneshaker was an awesome book -- and it's got to be really well done on audio!

Maybe next week will be better.

I finished The Wake of Forgiveness but had to almost force myself. The author has a beautiful way with words but the story was just too much for me.

I hear you about The Wake of Forgiveness. I finished reading it last week and although the story wasn't bad it was a difficult read for me. I gave it high marks for literature but definitely not my style.

I hope your week is less stressful. Happy reading!

How do you like Boneshaker? I've checked it out a few times but never got around to reading it! Hope you enjoy it! :)

You have a great stack here. And great sounding books going. :)

Oh, and congrats on your son. I can only imagine the feelings going on. I would be so proud yet so scared. Hope he is well in his travels.

Hope you are having a great week.
