Synopsis

Curiosity is definitely going to get me dead one of these days. Probably real soon.

I'm Gin Blanco.

You might know me as the Spider, the most feared assassin in the South. I’m retired now, but trouble still has a way of finding me. Like the other day when two punks tried to rob my popular barbecue joint, the Pork Pit. Then there was the barrage of gunfire on the restaurant. Only, for once, those kill shots weren’t aimed at me. They were meant for Violet Fox. Ever since I agreed to help Violet and her grandfather protect their property from an evil coalmining tycoon, I’m beginning to wonder if I’m really retired. So is Detective Donovan Caine. The only honest cop in Ashland is having a real hard time reconciling his attraction to me with his Boy Scout mentality. And I can barely keep my hands off his sexy body. What can I say? I’m a Stone elemental with a little Ice magic thrown in, but my heart isn’t made of solid rock. Luckily, Gin Blanco always gets her man . . . dead or alive.

My Thoughts:

Another solid story from Jennifer. I enjoyed this one just as much as her first.

I think my fondness for this series is in the main character, Gin. I really find this character appealing and her attitude and strength draw me in. The sub characters are pretty good as well. Finn is cute in that boyish flirt kind of way. Sophia and Jo Jo are just enough in the background to make you want to know more about them but at the same time, I was almost grateful not to know more. They kind of scare me a bit, which in reality, calls to me as well. Let's not forget Donovan Caine. That man drives me crazy. And welcome new guy Owen Grayson. I can't wait to see how his character is involved in the upcoming stories.

I look forward to reading the next book in the series, Venom. I have no doubt Jennifer will continue to keep me enthralled with the series.

I am so glad you enjoyed this book. I have heard nothing but great things for this series so far. I do have the first two books on the shelf here, but have to find time to get to them. :) Thanks for the great response to the book.
